This wedding venue is really the most beautiful where you could get married in Toscana! Building is stunning and clean, and the view is simply breathtaking! We had such a great time here, I highly recommend, especially if you're looking for that Italian summer outdoor dinner vibe for your wedding!
If you are visiting Tuscany, you HAVE to stay here. This part of Tuscany is close to Florence and very accessible, but it feels worlds away, as you’re surrounded by olive groves, vineyards, and walled villages. The B&B itself is incredible—the pictures do not do it justice. The grounds here are perfect for relaxing, and the house wines we tried during our stay were all exceptionally good. Unfortunately we could only stay one night, but we were honestly contemplating taking the late fee on our rental car return and staying longer because were just that in love with the B&B (and could not believe how affordable it actually was!). Although we booked dinner at the Cantinetta out of convenience, we were pleasantly surprised with how delicious and authentic the food was, and the resident red fox that joined us for dinner made us smile. Other pros included convenient parking, a hot/powerful shower, WiFi, and a super comfy bed. We had to rush out in the morning, but breakfast also looked SO good. Tip for visiting: be sure to enjoy the infinity pool overlooking the vineyards, and ask for Camera 4 if it’s available. Thank you, Guendolina, for such a magical stay! I hope we can come back and stay longer!
An absolutely wonderful place to escape the hustle and bustle of Florence or Siena. Gorgeous scenery surrounds you and the owner and staff are very attentive. The Cantinetta serves some of the best meals I have ever eaten. It's off the beaten path - and for me - that is a good thing.
Exactly as described by Rignana website and more.
Calmness without noise pollution.
Food and beverage is spectacular!
The true Nature of Italy.
Almost shamelessly inexpensive in comparison to what you get.
This is definitely not my last visit.
We absolutely loved our stay at the Fattoria e Villa di Rignana! Set in a stunning location with amazing views and a rich history it was a really special holiday. We stayed in the Villa, which was beautifully decorated with wonderful …
One of the worst experiences in Tuscany. Not really sure where to begin.
-only book if you are okay with a truly rustic experience. The rooms a very humid and clothing/towels are very damp all the time.
-there is an honesty wine fridge which is a really nice touch however, it’s locked at night so if you want to purchase a bottle make sure you do so during the day. (Before 6pm)
-there is a sign on the main door that asks you to lock the main door due to recent thefts….
-very little hot water and no pressure. If multiple people in the farmhouse are showering at the same time expect no pressure and to run out of hot water very quickly. Another couple from Germany actually asked us at breakfast if we had difficulties showering.
-despite being on a vineyard, it’s very difficult to book a tasting. The office doesn’t even offer one upon checking in.
-Restaurant is great IF you can get a reservation. We went one night and got in, the second night we texted the farmhouse office asking for a reservation to which they responded they couldn’t provide one until it opened and that they couldn’t call for us, instead we needed too. (This is very unprofessional, other locations in Tuscany have gladly booked us reservations and keep tables for farmhouse/hotel guests.
-pictures are outdated, the pool area is unkept, and not heated, so expect a chilly swim on a chilly night.
-breakfast is mediocre for Tuscany. There are signs asking guests to limit coffees to 2 in the morning. The “cakes” are dry and unpleasant.
-the road leading to the farmhouse is gravel and very unkept. We bottomed out numerous times avoiding potholes and steep declines/inclines. Please ensure you have 4x4 or an suv type vehicle to make sure you can get around the pot holes. It’s about 2.1km of gravel road.
If I am being totally honest I wouldn’t come back. Given the numerous wineries we visited in the region there are many other options to choose from. This one is located very far away from most wineries and difficult to get too. If you are set on the Greve location, I would book something closer to Badia, Sambuca, or Valigondoli areas. You are still about 10-20min drive from many great wineries but without the difficulties from this specific farmhouse.
We came to Fattoria e Villa di Rignana for a three-day escape to the Chianti hillside and were completely charmed by this beautiful agriturismo. We stayed in one of the rooms in the Villa (Corte), which, with its communal kitchen, billiards …
Very nice villa with good restaurant, wonderful pool on the top of the hill, fantastic view. Enjoyed staying here. Small selection for breakfast, nevertheless I had the best granola and lemon cake here. Will come back!
